For sale is this beautiful collectible intaglio! This piece is carved by hand out of a stone of some kind. It is in the style of ancient pieces from the middle east and holy land. I believe that this piece is a modern piece, possibly for the tourist market. The hole in it (for wearing) seems too consistent to be carved with ancient tools, it is obviously made with a modern bit after close examination. The carving on the face also reveals a texture that would be caused from someone hand making it with a file or tool. It is lacking in wear, as authentic pieces commonly have. The images are well defined, and lack consistency with contemporary pieces. For these reasons and more I believe it to be a modern piece. This being said, my research reveals that similar modern pieces can still fetch a few hundred dollars here on ! I have this piece value priced for a fast sale! If you are only interested in authentic ancient pieces, feel free to check out the others that I have listed! This would be a great biblical teaching tool, collectible, gift, conversation piece, display piece, or addition to any collection!
